Hey- you can't go all the way if you don't open your heart..that's where all the baggage is really, (mine for sure). So-flood gates open and I have learned all these great techniques of keeping myself real, in the moment, be present, looking to my body for the answers, get out my head, etc..and I feel so much on a moment to moment basis and it's very hard!! Because I feel so intense. Like intensly sad or scared. Those feelings, sad and scared are the ones I've repressed so I feel those more often than most. I don't really have trouble being happy in small doses...or maybe I have been more generally happy and that's upped my scared and sad emotions..??Who knows-feel free to comment. But getting back to the sad and scared feeling...so I feel these emotions all the time and to tell you the truth I feel more vunerable and weak because of it.! Help! I'm working through all this stuff and growing and improving myself here and really, I don't like this vunerable stuff that's happening to me!
I'm writing all this in my blog because I know that there are many people going through this stuff this year too and thought I'd share my thoughts, concerns...maybe we can work through this stuff together. I'm reading a good book these days called "The Saint, the Surfer and the CEO..very good read. Those of us who have been going -taking MLS classes, well it's all the same philosophies- the differences are that it gives some alternate practices for achieving the same goal..Becoming Present in our lives and fullfilling our dreams. Pick it up!
The picture I posted is the way I feel today, really. A kind of envy of the child who is not bagged down with worries of the future or past and is just enjoying the moment. The mom is taking time to just "be there" with her baby. It's a peacefull picture.
Take care.
"The process of life should be the birth of a soul. This is the highest alchemy, and this justifies our presence on earth. This is our calling and our virtue."
-Henri Frederic Amiel

Run Hair Girl Run

On Saturday, Sept 9th 2006, one of my short films was screened in Toronto,
'Run Hair Girl Run'.

Synopsis;
Set against the gritty urban scenescape of Ottawa with a pounding techno soundtrack, RUN HAIR GIRL RUN is a sizzling, cunning exasperating thriller that explores the life-altering impact of seemingly inconsequential actions.
Beautiful, hip and young: poor Layla has 5 minutes to locate a self-absorbed film star's missing bag containing a special comb and hair spray. If she can't find the bag, Jake Jaek will leave the set, the film will flop and Layla will get canned.
A pulse-raising race against time, RUN HAIR GIRL RUN employs a starting array of stolen and cliched techniques to present three different scenarios, all beginning with a single split-second decision Layla makes.

Yes, it is a parody on the amazing, award winning German film RUN LOLA RUN. Our film was produced for a local film festival here in Ottawa called Digi60. Where each year selected filmmakers are invited to participate. But with this festival there is always a catch...where all the films submitted have to be produced within 60 days from concept to DVD and for each festival all the films have to have one common trait. That year all the films had to start with the same opening line, " This is just how I pictured hell." and they had to end with line, "Step out of the way, I wouldn't want you to get splattered".
Our film was well received and this film is often invited to participate in festivals.. I unfortunately couldn't make it to TO for this one. Hey did anyone out there see it? Maybe I should start with a little about why I created a blog. Well a few of my friends are on this and love it and this year is a year of firsts for me. Last January I decided to put myself out there..jump off, take chances, expose myself...Like I in April I got on MSN, joined a dating site, invested in myself by taking a bunch of difficult courses to advance my skills, and the big one..I've opened myself up emotionally. And you know what, so far (cross your fingers PLS!!) I have had results....My skills have definitely improved, I'm allowing others to see the real me, the good and the bad and the dating stuff...well I was single for 2 years . It's scary really...I haven't felt this vunerable since I was a kid but all these mixed up emotions I have remind me everyday that I am alive and it feels great! I'm sitting in it -all of it -the good and the bad.

So there you go...a little about me for now...and more to come!

Have a great day eveybody. A Quote to leave you pondering..

He who laughs, lasts.
SH.
